How to keep your creative juices revved-up
If you fall fowl of the the 9 to 5 grind, and find your creative juices waning, then you need to figure out a way you can keep your creative juices flowing and fast!. The best way to do this is to have a plan, then follow through with your plan – every day.
In this article, I will give you a five step success plan that will keep your creative juices revved to over flowing – every single day.
Make the time:
Schedule in creative time every day. Just sit down for 10 minutes, and let your mind go. Alternatively, do your “thinking” on the train, or in the shower, this is a fantastic place to think. I hear a lot of people do their best thinking in the shower.
The next best time is 10 minutes before you go to sleep, as your mind is most relaxed at that time – or at least it should be.
Carry 3×5 card around with you:
Sadly, ideas don’t always come when we want them to, they come when you least expect it; when you’re shopping, walking the dog or watering the flowers. So always carry a 3×5 card with you, and a small pencil. Then write down those bolts of genius when they appear, then take those ideas into work with you, and use them!
Get up earlier for creative thinking time:
Just as the last minutes before you go to sleep can be creative moments, it is said that our mind is at it’s freshest and most creative in the mornings. So why not get into the habit of getting up that little bit earlier, and let your mind run wild with creative ideas.
Ask yourself crazy questions:
In your creative times ask yourself this very important question; “What would I do if I knew I had no financial limits, and the campaign couldn’t fail?” Then let your mind go crazy with ideas from there.
Clearly state your USP:
In your creative moments be sure to think about your company’s USP, as it’s important that this is crystal clear and concise. Creative ideas are wonderful but if your USP is not clearly stated, the benefits of your product and/or services will never shine through.
